Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, Taos NM.

Bixby Electric was fortunate enough to help bring to fruition a long awaited project for the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge in Taos New Mexico.  Installation of 10 Crisis Hotline phone lines was a long awaited project for the historic landmark as an on going effort to provide a connection to help and aide in preventing individuals in crisis from jumping from the Gorge Bridge. The project was challenging, finding employees who could tolerate working at such heights and troubleshooting how to install the needed infrastructure without extensively altering the structure itself was a mission Bixby Electric tackled with vigor. From locating a bridge maintenance lift, getting it to the location, prepping for a safe installation with minimal impact to the local traveling public, and aiming for completion prior to the extreme cold weather setting, our employees shined! The project goal was to install 10 phone locations that dial and connect direct with the The New Mexico Crisis & Access Line.

Our Brave employee, Cliff Adams. But the view!
