Labor / Operator / Driver

  • Maintain all necessary continuing education and recertification for all licenses, certifications, and training as required by company.

  • Work in numerous environments including inclement weather, varying types of surfaces, inside and outside during non-standard hours.  
  • Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground construction items related to Commercial, Line, Transportation Electrical Projects.  
  • Comply with safety standards and procedures, both internal to company and project specific.
  • Develop and maintain ability to safely use all required tools for assigned installations.
  • Operate required equipment safely and efficiently and ensure equipment on project is well maintained and safe to operate.
  • Inspect and document equipment condition prior to and after each use.  Lubricate and maintain all aspects of the equipment per company policy.  
  • Secure and transport all equipment / material properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and understand the key functions to be completed for proper installation of underground conduit and fittings, vaults, raceways, concrete structures, surface improvements, interior and exterior wall installation, hoisting and erecting structural items, and other installations as directed by field supervision.   
  • Maintain a strong understanding of safe work practices and procedures.
  • Skilled in utilizing specialized equipment and tools required by the work performed.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Develop and understand the ability to work out of bucket trucks, lifts, or other elevated platforms at relative working height.
  • Work individually and in teams to complete assigned tasks.  
  • Develop and understand a working knowledge of concrete placement in duct banks, foundations shafts, small collars and surface installations as well as forming and rebar installation process.  
  • Perform administrative tasks such as reporting time, etc. on timecards as requested, supporting activity hazard analysis, and executing documentation as requested.
  • Review and have a working knowledge of all manuals, safety guidelines, etc. relating to all equipment, tools, and project specific components (materials) they are working on.  
  • Maintain a mobile means of communication to receive pay stubs, communications of work sites, updates on company policies, emergency contact, and other items as required for routine work communications.  
  • Support Project Supervisors and Management to accomplish safety and productivity goals.  
  • Other duties as assigned.  

 

Journeyman / Lineman Apprentice

  • Complete probationary employment with Bixby Electric of a minimum of 6 consecutive months and be in good standing with the company.
  • Enroll in an accredited Apprentice program through Bixby Electric, or other qualified party.
  • Valid Driver’s License (CDL required for Transportation and Line Departments).
  • Maintain all necessary continuing education and recertification for all licenses, certifications, and training as required by company.  
  • Acquire / maintain all tools required by company policy.
  • Work in numerous environments including inclement weather, varying types of surfaces, inside and outside during non-standard hours.  
  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including commercial, industrial, airfield, traffic signals, and Medium Voltage.
  • Comply with safety standards and procedures, both internal to company and project specific.
  • Diagnose and test electrical systems to identify / correct issues under the supervision of a licensed journeyman.  
  • Develop and maintain ability to safely use all required tools for assigned installations.
  • Operate required equipment safely and efficiently and ensure equipment on project is well maintained and safe to operate.
  • Inspect and document equipment condition prior to and after each use.  Lubricate and maintain all aspects of the equipment per company policy.  
  • Develop knowledge or all electrical principles the on-the-job training and support from a licensed journeyman.

Estimator

  • Monitoring, updating, and maintaining the bid schedules for assigned department(s) or as assigned by the Chief Estimator.  
  • Monitor and seek out bid opportunities.  Review opportunities for location, approximate value, appropriate department, and competition within 24 hours of advertisement (or when became aware). 
  • Opportunities found will be turned over to the Office Manager to create a bid folder and packages and Chief Estimator for approval to bid.  Proposals may also be approved by the Department Manager or Ownership.  
  • Complete a take-off of all materials quantities needed to complete the project for the electrical scope (complete project if bidding as Prime).
  • Review all project specifications, plans, special requirements, and potential contract language.
  • Visit and assess all projects in person and attend all required pre-bid conferences as assigned by Chief Estimator.
  • Submit questions timely for all proposals and bids. Request stored materials payment on ALL projects.
  • Notify all available vendors or potential projects as soon as possible, provide a material take-off / quote request to at least three (3) vendors in all categories.  
  • Obtain all material quotes for assigned bids and maintain electronic files by SOP.
  • Notify all potential subcontractors / service providers on potential projects as soon as possible, provide a quote request and pertinent coordination information (requested scope, potential project schedules, phasing issues, special provisions, etc.)
  • Review all materials, service, and subcontractor quotes for scope and completeness.
  • Select the best vendor (not just price, but price, value, availability, previous performance, etc.) for required materials, services, and subcontracts.
  • Generate a complete Bid Review package with the ability to discuss and show all labor, material, equipment, and other breakdowns of the overall proposal including individual items.  Complete mobilization spreadsheet.  Maintain a working file of quotes, documents, questions, etc. and be available during a bid review.  
  • Review all bids with estimating team, Chief Estimator, and ownership as requested prior to submission.
  • Within 3 working days of a completed bid, all correspondence shall be provided to the office admin for scanning and filing. In addition, drag your email correspondence to the electronic bid folder. Phone calls and other discussions will need to be memorialized or documented and included in the bid folder. 
  • Review change orders generated by operations, develop change orders as requested Chief Estimator.  
  • Execute hand off meetings for all successful projects consistent with the current estimating SOP. 
  • Support submission of submittals, pre-construction documents, and any other project deliverables as requested by Department Manager(s) and approved by Chief Estimator.  
  • All work files shall be stored on the Server.  No work files shall be stored on external hard drives, jump drives, or any other location 

Journeyman (EE-98J)

  • Valid Lineman Certification or NM EE-98J
  • Valid Driver’s License (CDL required for Transportation and Line Departments)
  • Maintain all necessary continuing education and recertification for all licenses, certifications, and training as required by company.  
  • Acquire / maintain all tools required by company policy.  
  • Work in numerous environments including inclement weather, varying types of surfaces, inside and outside during non-standard hours.

  • Review and have a working knowledge of all project specific contract documents such as specifications, plans, standard specifications, and project specific requirements that apply to all daily tasks.

Project Coordinator

  • Maintain all necessary continuing education and recertification for all licenses, certifications, and training as required by company.  
  • Assist the assigned Manager and/ or Field Supervisors in their Duties.
  • Keep detailed records of current RFIs, submittals, change orders, material orders, purchase orders, etc. through the project master spreadsheet.
  • Submit billings and keep record of current billings and quantities. 
  • Contact customer on delinquent billings and notifies upper management when customer is uncooperative.
  • Send current global billing status to upper management on a weekly basis
  • Prepares and submits submittals, change orders, and certificates of compliance directly to owner. 
  • Process and manage subcontracts including documentation, billings, RFIs, submittals, etc.
  • Project closeout tasks, e.g., permit closeout, billing completion, coordination of final inspections, etc.
  • Assist project team in meetings and follow up with meeting minutes and actions.
  • Schedule follow up meetings as needed
  • Prepare and review field crew hours, timesheets, cost codes and field reports. Confirm accuracy.
  • Prepare and maintain project budget within the accounting system.  
  • Prepare and release all pre-construction material orders. Track material for timely delivery. 
  • Coordinate with the owner or prime contractor to schedule work
  • Prepare job costs reports to be included with work in progress (cost to complete) report for review by Manager.  
  • Track and report project hours and expenses as well as draft and manage budgets as requested by Project Manager.  
  • Serve as primary contact for questions, concerns, changes, and adjustments for administrative and project tasks for both internal and external customers assigned by Project Manager.  
  • Prepare reports as needed for upper management regarding project status and communicate changes to the Project Manager.   
  • Coordinate with field support, other departments, and corporate staff to execute project and provide necessary communications to Project Manager and all other stakeholders.
  • Review daily / weekly / monthly / annually all project documentation including timecards, equipment, quantity summaries etc. as assigned by Project Manager.    
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Project Manager

  • Combination of previous experience and / or education in construction or a related field.  
  • Maintain all necessary continuing education and recertification for all licenses, certifications, and training as required by company.  
  • Review all estimate details including all contract details with owner / prime contractor, bill of materials, specifications, special provisions, vendor and subcontractor quotes, and all other necessary data to develop budgets, schedules, crew make-up, equipment, materials, and support required to execute assigned projects.
  • Oversee all pre-construction material orders. Assure that materials are delivered on time and don’t delay progress or hinder production rates / project progress. 
  • Monitor, update, and maintain both internal and external schedules.
  • Monitor project progress and schedule requirements and determine actions as needed to ensure timely completion.
  • Coordinate with the owner or prime contractor to schedule work
  • Monitor, forecast, and manage all job costs including work in progress (cost to complete) projection of all costs for each project.
  • Track and report project hours and expenses as well as draft and manage budgets,
  • Set deadlines, assign responsibilities, monitor, and summarize progress of projects.
  • Track and monitor production rates.  Adjust crews, equipment, tools, as necessary to achieve budgeted production rates.  
  • Visit and assess projects regularly. (Safety, housekeeping, staging, crews, and all necessary site coordination to complete projects.)
  • Conduct routine inspections and jobsite walk-throughs consistent with project specific, company, and safety requirements.  
  • Serve as primary contact for questions, concerns, changes, and adjustments for both internal and external customers.  
  • Prepare reports as needed for upper management regarding project status and communicates changes to project team members to ensure executions and escalation when necessary 
  • Direct the overall strategic direction of projects
  • Manage staff including coordinators, asst project managers, field supervision, field crews, and trades people.
  • Coordinate with field support, other departments, and corporate staff to execute project and provide necessary communications to Company Management.
  • Review and execute project billings as required.  Oversee delinquent billings and report to management.  
  • Review daily / weekly / monthly / annually all project documentation including timecards, equipment, quantity summaries etc.  Evaluate and remedy issues.  
  • Responsible for reviewing estimates for potential jobs and preparing change orders and cost estimates.

Lineman (EL-01J)
